This
Frock Coat is a classic example of an officer who could afford the best
that money could buy. Made by a famed and exclusive New York tailor and
having only the finest appointments, it now stands in mute testimony to
Robert’s wealth. The coat has Tiffany and Co. buttons, ultra fine velvet
Colonel’s shoulder Straps and a luxurious baldric, bearing the emblem of
the state of Maine.
Roberts commanded the 2nd Maine through out the 1862 campaign
in Virginia. He later became a Brevet Brigadier General. In terms of
quality, this is the finest coat in the collection.
