Uniform of a Lt. Colonel of Infantry - Unidentified Service

This is a standard Frock coat of an Infantry Lt. Colonel. The straps have blue fields and the buttons have ?I? for infantry. This coat came out of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. It would be fascinating to think this officer was a member of the vaunted Iron Brigade but I am afraid that is just wishful thinking.
